Founded by a board-certified neurologist, Smart-kit's goal is to help its readers have fun while exercising their brains.
Smart-kit came to TopRank looking to increase the number of people visiting the website. In addition, Smart-kit wanted to create an identify that encouraged the visitors not only to come to the site, but to stay and interact with additional content. Solution: TopRank's first step, working with Smart-kit, was to help create a search engine friendly website by implementing search engine best practices both technically and in regards to content. In addition, since the website runs on blog software we educated – and continue to educate – the client on blogging best practices to ensure each post is seen by as many people as possible. In order to encouraged repeat visitors and lengthier stays on the website, we created a new site design for Smart-kit that sung to its true focus of providing the audience with new and entertaining online puzzles. In addition, the puzzle bar at the top connects visitors with the most popular puzzles. The small images attract visitors to additional puzzles, that they otherwise may have found while visiting the website. In addition, TopRank performs social media marketing on behalf of Smart-kit helping drive traffic from sites like StumbleUpon, Facebook and many more. Results: Since starting work with Smart-kit in June of 2006, unique visitors have grown from 2,000 to over 90,000 unique visitors in December 2007. As well, page views have increased from 4,788 to 183,189. ![]()
Ecumen Case Study
The site's multiple audiences include everyone from family members seeking senior housing for a loved one to community leaders seeking to partner with an experienced senior housing developer. In March of 2007, despite attracting thousands of unique visitors per month, Ecumen was not being found online for keywords and content relevant to its industry. Because of this, Ecumen was struggling to develop vital long term relationship with its online prospects. Solution: TopRank's first step in working with Ecumen, was to help create a search engine friendly website by implementing technical search engine best practices, ensuring that Ecumen's site could be easily found for targeted content by search engine users. TopRank then worked with Ecumen on brainstorming a list of targeted keywords that its prospects were using in search queries. Now that Ecumen's site could be found in search results, TopRank set to work ensuring that it would also foster deeper relationships with its users by launching and optimizing the “Changing Aging” blog. This engaging forum is a dedicated resources for Ecumen's team, and web visitors, to share and discuss ideas, news, innovations & opinions. In addition to consistent monitoring and refinement to the main content of Ecumen's site, the TopRank team engages in several online promotional tactics designed to drive traffic to this blog, and offers regular counsel on ensuring blog visitors become not only regular site visitors, but future prospects. Results: Since starting work with Ecumen in February of 2006, monthly visitors to Ecumen's site have nearly doubled. Additionally, a search in Google's top 30 in March of 2006 generated only two results pertaining to Ecumen's targeted content. In December of 2007, searches for Ecumen's target keyword phrases generated nearly twenty results throughout Google's top thirty, with many of these search results appearing on Google's Page 1. Finally, the Changing Aging blog – not even in existence one year ago – now averages over 500 visits per month – with many of its individual posts helping Ecumen to achieve its increase in search engine rankings. |
